Barcelona are plotting a fire sale of eight stars this summer which is set to put Premier League clubs on red alert, according to reports.

The Catalan giants are planning a squad overhaul as they seek to make room for new arrivals including Frenkie de Jong and potentially Matthijs de Ligt.

Philippe Coutinho, Ivan Rakitic and Samuel Umtiti feature on a list of names who the Barca hierarchy would be willing to part company with during the transfer window, according to Spanish outlet Marca.

Ivan Rakitic

Nelson Semedo

Malcom

Jasper Cillessen

Andre Gomes

Denis Suarez

Other names on the list include Jasper Cillessen, Nelson Semedo, Andre Gomes, Denis Suarez and Malcom.

Coutinho has struggled during his first full season in La Liga and has not hit the heights that were expected of him following his £145million move from Liverpool.

He has been linked with a move to Manchester United and Chelsea, but front-runners for his signature appear to be Paris Saint-Germain, according to SPORT

The Ligue 1 side are able to offer wages that the Blues cannot compete with, while United’s rivalry with Liverpool makes a switch to Old Trafford an uncomfortable option for the midfielder.

United may have better luck with Rakitic, who is admired by coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen is also named amid rumours he too could move to Old Trafford

Sportsmail reported in February how the Croatia playmaker was among those on United’s wish list and enquiries were made. Barca manager Ernesto Valverde hopes to keep Rakitic, according to the report, but those upstairs are willing to consider offers.

The 31-year-old has publicly expressed his desire to stay in Spain, as has Umtiti, but with the arrival of De Ligt on the horizon, Barca are happy to let the Frenchman depart too.

Andre Gomes and Denis Suarez both spent time on loan in the Premier League last season with Everton and Arsenal respectively, indicating the expectation that they too will go.

As reported by Sportsmail, Everton lead the chase for Gomes after he rejected an opportunity to move to West Ham, while a move to Tottenham appears unlikely.

Cillessen, meanwhile, has been linked the Red Devils in the past amid uncertainty surrounding David de Gea’s future.

The report also adds that Thomas Vermaelen, Jeison Murillo and Kevin-Prince Boateng are certain to leave, with Vermaelen’s contract up at the end of the season, while Murillo will return to Valencia after his loan deal expires.
