BBC One will not be fronted by its long-running presenter, Graham Norton tonight (Friday, May 17). Instead, comedian and actor Jack Whitehall will take Norton’s place on the show to interview four celebrities. Here’s why Norton is not on the BBC One show tonight and where the TV presenter is.

Why is Graham Norton not on The Graham Norton Show tonight?

Graham Norton is not on The Graham Norton Show tonight (May 17) because he was in Tel Aviv, Israel at the time of filming.

The Graham Norton Show host has been the face of the Eurovision Song Contest for the past 11 competitions.

Eurovision 2019 takes place in Israel meaning Norton had to fly out there for the contest.

The clash of filming means Jack Whitehall will act as a guest host on The Graham Norton Show for the first time.

Fans will have to wait until Saturday night (May 18) to see Norton back on BBC screens this week.

Norton will cover the Eurovision Song Contest final from 8pm on BBC One.

Rylan Clark-Neal and Scott Mills presented the Eurovision semi-finals on Tuesday (May 14) and Thursday (May 16).

But it is Norton who has presented the final for the past 11 years since taking over duties from Terry Wogan.
